Kash, the Border Collie-Aussie Mix & I Are Back!

A Lot Has Happened to This Border Collie-Aussie Mix Dog Since I Last Posted!

Here is tonight’s photo of Kash the Dog walking on water!

Border Collie-Aussie Mix

We have done a lot of adventures since this past winter (which was brutal!). We went on 2 vacations, both adventurous, one without Kash and one with Kash. My mother-in-law stayed with Kash the Dog at our house for our Spring 2014 adventure. She is the only one we would trust with our pooch.

We went diamond mining! It was so cool. We went to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. (www.craterofdiamondsstatepark.com) We spent quite a bit of time sifting through dirt, always with that wonderful feeling of hope, but did not find one. The guy nearby us found one and showed it to us. You wouldn’t recognize it as a diamond! It was worth about $170.00.

The second vacation, we took Kash along on a 16 day road trip, all on backroads, to Maine and Canada. We especially liked upper New York, and Vermont. Well Maine was awesome too! Ate some fresh “lobsta” and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We saw a black bear and three cubs in Vermont. She was a beauty! All shiny jet black and I was able to get fairly close. (calculated risk)

Kash, being a Border Collie-Aussie mix needs to run. Often. So when we couldn’t let him run, we would find places for him to swim. He swam every day except one on our “down east” vacation.

We stayed in “The Dodge Lodge” 8 nights. I had built a platform in the back of our Dodge Caravan out of wood. It was custom built to fit plastic bins under it (5 of them) to hold our clothes, food, and accessories. Then we put 8+ inches of memory foam on top of it, made screens for the windows, and built in a cooler. It was so comfortable we preferred it to staying in a motel!

Woodstock, NY

We even browsed around the famous Woodstock, NY for a day. What a neat little town! I could come back here and hang out a while. Some cool hippie looking dudes and dudesses. Canada was scenic, but we couldn’t read French and it was discouraging to try and deal with some of the antique dealers, so we went back into Vermont.

I’ll reveal some more adventure stories and photos with the next post.
