Kash the Dog – Border Collie-Aussie Mix is 50 Pounds Already

I thought our Border Collie-Aussie mix dog would top out at about 45 pounds seeing he was the runt of the litter.  Not so.  Kash is almost 8 months old and still has some growing to do, I’m afraid.

The dog training guide has been very helpful since day one.  There is one last issue as far as bad behavior that needs attention.  That is “how to keep dog from jumping on people” especially children.  We are working on that as we speak.

I got a tip from a friend of mine this morning.  She has Australian Shepherds so she knows about our type of Border collie-aussie mix dog.  She said to get a spray bottle and mix a little vinegar in with water.  Spray it in the dogs face when he jumps on you or someone else.  She said he would soon quit the bad behavior.  I am going to try it.

The ticks are still prevalent in our area.  I still pull 2-3 ticks a day off from Kash, checking him after being outside.  The ticks like to go for the ears, so that is where I start looking. I have found at least half a dozen of them IN his ears!

The best tweezers I have found to pull the ticks out with are called Uncle Bill’s Silver Grippers.  These are the absolute best tweezers I have ever used.  I have had 2 pair of them for close to 20 years and use them for everything.

Don't forget to check for ticks, and while your at it, rub his belly.
