How to Stop Puppy From Biting. What Did Not Work

How to stop your puppy from biting can be a tedious task if your dog has the de-meaner of our puppy, Kash.  Here is the latest on what did not work.

When we went to the store to buy Kash a bag of dog food, we noticed a “no bite” spray product.  We read the label and it basically said that you spray this on whatever you don’t want your puppy to bite or chew on.  It has a very bad bitter taste that will repel the dogs desire to bite or chew that item again.

My wife was anxious to try this out.  She followed the directions on the Bitter Yuck and sprayed her hands with it.  She engaged Kash in some play with his stuffed toys.  He immediately stopped playing with the toy and started licking her hands like they were covered with bacon grease!  He loved that taste!  That certainly was a bust.

The biting is getting better.  We are sticking to the instructions in our dog training guide we purchased, because it has been nothing short of amazing for teaching Kash different commands.  “How to stop your puppy from biting” has just taken just a little longer.

Kash is now 25 pounds and 19 weeks old.  He is losing his puppy fur.  It looks kind of funny at this time.  It will get better.  We give him a capsule of fish oil once a day to help keep his skin and fur healthy as well as the other benefits fish oil has.

Kash is eating like a pony lately and still looking kinda skinny.  We try to keep food in his dish at all times so he can eat at will.  He is fed Blue Life Protection Formula Natural Chicken and Brown Rice Recipe Food for Puppies.  Kash loves this food so hopefully it will be fairly easy to switch him over to adult dog food made by the same company.

Do you know what is in the food you feed your dog?  Have you ever wondered just what is the best food to feed your pet?  I did a ton of research a couple years ago, and again when we adopted Kash.  I wish I would have found Dog Food Dangers early on, as this is the very best source of information on what is healthy dog food and what you should avoid.  It is worth checking out, especially if you are concerned about your dogs health.

See you tomorrow.  Pet your dog.
