Our dog Kash, a Border Collie-Aussie mix was not a easy dog to raise as a puppy!
Kash Flow, our Border Collie-Aussie mix dog is a very good, loyal, smart, and lovable dog! He wasn’t always that way. From the first day, he was a challenge. He was also smart.
I always thought I had a way with dogs. All of my dogs had been exceptional, smart, behaved well, and totally loyal to me. Kash was different. He is not wired the same as most dogs.
This video touches on the first six months of his life. I constantly had to assert my “alpha dog” status, day in, and day out. From biting, to barking, and totally ignoring commands, to not letting you pet him, and even growling at you for eye contact, he was difficult.
I just had a gut feeling that I would get through to him eventually, and he would become the dog that I thought he could be. It took a full six months. Then it was like a switch flipped and he became such a good dog. A lover dog! Totally opposite from what he was.
Kash the Dog is now a smart, very smart dog that learns just by listening to what I say. We also use “eye signals” very effectively. He watches my eyes for commands, and then takes action. It makes my wife so mad because we kind of gang up on her sometimes. She can be calling his name, he’ll look at me for the sign, ignore her, or run to her, and then act on my nod of the head or our eye signs. Smart dog.
Border Collie-Aussie mix dogs in my opinion is probably one of the smartest dog on the planet. Of course, your dog maybe the smartest in your world. All dogs can be great companions if treated correctly.
We bought a fantastic dog toy for Kash the other day.
This has been a fun toy while cooped up due to heavy snow/weather and has kept Kash occupied with us in the evenings.
Well, until next time, hug your dog.
